- 4 x Recut social media videos
- Concept development
- Script writing
- Supply of broll and interview “selects”
THE DETAILS
EOS Ecology was the science and communication lead for ‘Wai Connection’, one of the biggest national water catchment support projects in New Zealand.
They needed a series of 7 x videos to document the impact of the project.
Storylight was thrilled to collaborate on a project of this scale and we became their dedicated video team for this project.
In the scripting stage we worked collaboratively and helped to simplify the message with the aim of attracting local government and catchment groups.
Part of the adventure for us was getting to film in rural areas around Canterbury. In total we interviewed 14 x people over 6 days and 5 locations. We worked with each interviewee to get the best possible content and helped them feel comfortable on camera.
The filming involved lots of hill climbing and even standing in water a few times to get the best vantage point!
One thing we learnt was that it was really hard to co-ordinate filming days with so many different catchment volunteers. After all, making a video was not their priority! We needed to be flexible with our schedule and be mindful of how much we asked of them during the filming.
SOCIAL MEDIA RECUTS
EOS Ecology wanted to maximise the videos to get the most content from the 6 days filming. Here is an example of one of the social media recuts we made:
Each catchment group received a video like this as a thank you gift for being part of the filming. The videos then got posted on the groups social media, which also helped to promote EOS Ecology’s services to a wider audience!
BROLL AND INTERVIEW “SELECTS“
Not all video production companies like to give you the “raw” footage. But we think it’s a valuable asset and have developed a service to make footage easily available to our clients.
At the end of this project we supplied the broll and interviews as “selects”. This is all the usable colour corrected footage made available in one place.
EOS Ecology now have easy access to any broll and interviews from the whole project. They plan to use the footage to build a video content library for future sales and marketing video projects.
